“Nonlinear Reality” is the debut album from bi-coastal (San Francisco and New York to be exact) live/electronic fusion team “Methodrone”. Born out of an intense marathon recording session (18 songs in one week) “Nonlinear Reality” loosely falls into the “chillout” category but is in reality much more. This instrumental album borrows from dance music, psychedelic rock, and ambient styles to create tracks that are rich, powerful, and sophisticated.

Expect dance floor versions of selected tracks from “Nonlinear Reality” to be released in early 2010.

iTunes, Beatport, or Amazon

—————–
Tracklist:

1. Slow It Down
2. Elevate
3. Passing Time
4. s4D
5. Out There Floating
6. Live And High
7. Systematic Glitch (Upon Re-Entry)

On April 1st, NYC guitarist Jerry Fuentes joined Methodrone to record some guitar on a few songs. We spent a few hours in the studio and had a blast. Jerry came in totally blind, and blew us away by experimenting on what we believed were songs that lent themselves to a different sort of vibe than we had previously worked on.

Jerry lent his guitar skills to the following songs:
Sundown on Mariposa (dancefloor)
Entry Level (chill)
Working title of ‘Electro Synthy’

We couldn’t have been more pleased with the outcome, and look forward to getting these songs finished for the world to hear.

This will be a really good view into the direction where we believe Methodrone is heading!!!!

A lot of the notes we sometimes simply “pass over” can be the key to our success when it comes to more intense improvisation, and more new and fresh ideas. These notes can be the sixths, the ninths, the flatted fifths and the flatted thirds, just to name a few.

I feel it’s so important for you to start to understand where these notes lie in relation to the notes you’ve become so accustomed to playing, so you can really become comfortable as to where they are, and when you can use them.

You’ll note that these ideas often result in chromatic runs being played, because these notes usually lie on fret below or above the normal position w
